CVV Code - What Is the ReadyCARD® CVV? How to Find the 3-Digit Code
The CVV (Card Verification Value) is a 3-digit security code required to check your ReadyCARD® balance online. It is on the back of your card, separate from the 16-digit card number. Here is where to find it and what to do if the form rejects it.
Where is the CVV on a ReadyCARD®?
The CVV is a 3-digit number printed flat (not embossed) on the back of your card, on or near the signature strip. On ReadyCARD® Visa® and Mastercard® cards it is usually printed to the right of the last 4 digits of your card number on the signature panel.
It is never part of the 16-digit card number on the front. Look specifically on the back, in the signature area.
CVV, CVC, CVV2, CVC2 — what is the difference?
These are all names for the same thing: the 3-digit security code on the back of the card. Visa® calls it CVV2, Mastercard® calls it CVC2, and most balance check forms label it CVV. For ReadyCARD® purposes, they all refer to the same 3-digit number on the back.
What if my CVV is not working?
If the balance check form rejects your CVV, check the following:
1. Make sure you are entering the digits from the back of the card, not the front.
2. Some cards print the last 4 digits of the card number before the CVV on the signature strip — only enter the final 3 digits.
3. If the signature strip is worn or damaged and the CVV is unreadable, call the customer service number on the back of your card.
