Card Number - How to Find Your ReadyCARD® Card Number

Your ReadyCARD® card number is a 16-digit number on the front of your card. You need it every time you check your balance online. Here is exactly where to look and what to do if you have trouble reading it.

Where is the card number on a ReadyCARD®?

The card number is printed or embossed on the front of your ReadyCARD®. It is 16 digits long, usually grouped in four sets of four — for example 4510 02XX XXXX XXXX. On some cards the number runs across the back instead; check both sides if you do not see it on the front.

ReadyCARD® Visa® cards start with the digit 4. ReadyCARD® Mastercard® cards start with 5. Either of those first digits means you likely have a supported card.

How to enter the card number correctly

Enter all 16 digits without spaces or dashes. The balance check form accepts only digits — ignore the spaces printed on the card. A single transposed digit will cause an error, so type carefully and double-check each group of four.

What if the card number is worn or hard to read?

Hold the card at an angle under a bright light — embossed numbers often become easier to read that way. If you still cannot make out all 16 digits, the customer service number on the back of your card can verify your balance without requiring you to read the number aloud.

Which card numbers are supported on this site?

The first six digits of your card number are called the BIN (Bank Identification Number). Supported ReadyCARD® BINs include 451002 and 455921 (Visa®), 512857 (Mastercard®), 487505, and 533211 (Canada). If your BIN is not in this list, use the rcbalance.com address printed on your card directly.
